2010 Getty Images Media Hockey Pin
From the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada comes this media pin for Getty Images. Though not an "official" pin as it lacks the Olympic rings and the offical Vancouver Olympic symbol, the dated 2010 Canadian maple leaf and the fact that I acquired this one at the Games assures me of its vintage. This pin has a value of $6.00 USD, though I have seen it sell for over $17.00 USD.

This pin was released for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia. It has an instantly classic design with the red Canadian maple leaf serving as background for the "swoosh" puck design. The value on this pin is $12.00 USD, though I have seen it sell for up to $37.78 USD most likely due to how difficult it is to find.

2002 Generic "Day 16" Hockey Pin
This "day" pin produced for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah was one of a series produced for each day of competition during the games. The pin features a goaltender's mask, hockey puck and a really ugly hockey stick--looks more like a baseball bat/hockey stick hybrid. The value on this pin is $10.00 USD.

2010 Atos Origin Olympic Sponsor Hockey Pin
So, switching things up a little today, I thought I would share some information on a high-priced Olympic hockey pin sale. This auction ended today on eBay for a staggering $69.00 plus $5.99 shipping. That's a total of $74.99! The pin is from Atos Origin, which is an international information technology corporation. As indicated on the atos.net newsroom website, "Atos Origin designs, integrates, manages and secures the multiple IT systems to manage the Games and deliver real-time competition results from Vancouver to a global audience of 3 billion people." This pin clearly remains a highly sought after item over a year after the 2010 Games concluded. Well done to the seller of this auction getting a handsome booty for the item, and well done to the buyer as well for adding a great pin to your collection.

2002 Purple Hockey Jersey Player Pins
These three pins were produced for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. The original of the three pins was the generic pin pictured on the right side. Thereafter, several schools throughout Utah had various styles of pins made to celebrate the Olympic games, capitalize on the growing Utah pin collecting craze and raise money for the schools. Two such schools were Columbia Elementary School and Crescent View Middle School, each of which chose this hockey design from the official pin manufacturer, Aminco®. The value of each of these pins, individually, is $7.00 USD.

1972 Soviet Union Plastic Covered Goalie Pin
This nice addition to an Olympic hockey pin collection comes from the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan. It originated from the Soviet Union and looks very much like a plastic encased postage stamp with a safety pin fastener attached to the back of the plastic casing. The unusual parallelogram shape, however, leads me to believe it is not a postage stamp. Either way, it is a colorful and rare pin. I would put the value on this pin at $6.00 USD, but I have seen it sell for up to $12.00 USD.

2010 Canada "Believe" Hockey Skate
This was a popular and difficult to find pin during the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The pin was not manufactured by the officially licensed pin supplier, Artiss/Aminco, which perhaps made it more difficult to come by. With the Canadian maple leaf proudly displayed, the "Believe" slogan became reality when the Canadians won the gold medal hockey game in a 3-2 overtime thriller against the United States. The value on this pin is in the $17.00 to $20.00 USD range.
